Villamartín is a small Spanish city located in Alicante on the south Costa Blanca, falling under the area of Orihuela Costa.
The area is well known as a popular holiday destination due to its beautiful layout around a well-kept golf course, blue flag beaches just 3kms from the urbanization and its stunning Mediterranean scenery. The urbanization consists generally of townhouses and classic Spanish villas with large pools and neat gardens. The number of residents living in Villamartín varies throughout the year due to the large influence of golfers and tourists which also has a great impact on the property market for holiday homes.
Villamartín Golf Course, designed by Paul Putman, is situated within a mile of the sea between Torrevieja and Murcia airport at San Javier. It is a par-72 course and is 6km long. It is built on hilly ground with the front nine holes being at the highest point of the course offering some spectacular sea views. The second nine are situated more in valleys with “brancas” (ravines) coming into play on several holes.
The small city is mostly made up of British and foreign residents who have influenced the area over the years adding British shops, bars and restaurants to its popular Plaza and commercial center. Villamartín is located only 10 minutes’ drive away from La Zenia Boulevard with plenty to keep the whole family entertained for hours.
