Santiago de la Ribera is the most populated district of the municipality of San Javier in the Region of Murcia, Spain. It is located on the coast of the Mar Menor along a wide stretch of coast. It has a long, picturesque, palm tree lined promenade which runs for several kilometers north towards the neighboring resort of Lo Pagán.
Santiago de la Ribera has 4 kilometers of fine golden sand beaches all with calm, warm and shallow waters, which is why it exerts a great attraction on visitors. Each beach is well equipped with life guard posts, children’s play areas and many local bars and restaurants to choose from. From the Marina here, you can also take a boat trip around the calm waters of the Mar Menor or a ferry across to the “Tomas Maestre Marina” located at La Manga Strip on the opposite side of the bay.
It is located just a 5 minutes’ drive from “Dos Mares Shopping Center” and the busy town of San Javier. There is also a sports center in the same area with a football pitch and an indoor pool.
Santiago de la Ribera is also only a 15 minutes’ drive away from the popular golf course of “Lo Romero”, a fairly new course in Pilar de la Horadada.
