Los Nietos is a small coastal municipality only 25 minutes away from Cartagena City. Traditionally the town based its economy on fishing and farming, nowadays it’s a popular tourist destination.
The beach at Los Nietos is over 2km long and has beautiful golden sand and crystal-clear waters. It has children’s play areas and all the necessary facilities to do water sports such as: water ski, snorkeling, sailing and much more. Along the beach front are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops.
Another must-see is The Iberian settlement of Los Nietos, it is located in the municipality of Cartagena. It is a burial site of enormous importance, not only because of the magnificent ceramic and metallic materials found during the excavation of it, also because it is the only Iberian settlement and burial site found along the coast of Murcia.
Cartagena City is a short drive away and offers a large selection of other activities to do such as visiting the ancient Roman Ruins, a walk along the promenade and port (with many bars and restaurants offering traditional Spanish food) and “Espacio Mediterraneo Shopping Center” with 2 floors of shops and many fast food restaurants. Cartagena also has numerous nautical museums, many of them free to enter.
Los Nietos also has a Spar supermarket, a bank and a medical center located in the heart of the town.
